CHEMICAL PEEL & LASER PEEL TYPES


1. MICRO-LASER-PEEL

One of the Laser surgery procedures called the Micro-Laser-Peel is a minimally invasive-type treatment that offers patients less 'downtime' and are increasing in popularity. It is a very controlled burning procedure, during which a laser vaporizes superficial layers of facial skin, removing not only wrinkles caused by sun damage, acne scars, scars produced by surgery, some folds and creases around the nose and mouth, and even precancerous benign superficial growths.

The Micro-Laser-Peel procedure creates a glowing, freshly youthful look.


2. CHEMICAL PEELS

The chemical peels can be divided into superficial, medium and deep chemical peels. The deeper the peel, the more you can expect your skin to rejuvenate. There are a number of chemicals that are used such as TCA (trichloroacetic acid), glycolic acid, salisylic acid, lactic acid or carbolic acid (phenol).

SUPERFICIAL PEELS

The superficial peels help exfoliate the top-most layer of your skin, making it look smoother and refreshed and it may have some effect on superficial fine lines and wrinkles as well as improve some of the changes in color your skin might have because of sun-spots or other age-related discolorations. The AHA peels, or Alpha Hydro Glycolic peels are the gentlest of all peels, but since different strengths may be used, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility for prolonged irritation and increased or decreased pigmentation.

MEDIUM PEELS

The medium peels by penetrating deeper into the skin, can smooth out rough skin, help diminish or remove some fine lines and wrinkles, and improve the tone of your skin.

DEEP PEELS

Deep chemical peels are similar in effect as laser resurfacing treatments, having a more dramatic effect on fine lines and wrinkles, rough skin and in improvements in skin tone.

With the advent of laser skin treatments, chemical peels are not as popular any longer, but are still in use.


3. PARTICLE SKIN RESURFACING

This procedure does not require chemicals or lasers. Instead, it uses a spray of fine aluminum oxide crystals that make contact with the skin and buff the top layer of your skin and then are instantly sucked back into the vacuum.

It is very effective in treating oily skin, blackheads and whiteheads, as well as superficial lines and wrinkles and age spots. It can be used in all skin types and local anesthesia is not required.
